formandfoliage Sara Malone and I have just started an exciting new blog formandfoliage. Check out www.formandfoliage.net. Sara has a unique garden philosophy: year-round garden interest with minimal care. For those of us who like to look at our gardens but don't have the time or passion to spend hours in the garden, this concept is well worth considering. This is a different kind of photography for me, at least to reflect Sara's vision and view of her gardens. These are not the supersaturated images you'll often see in gardening magazines. She wants the images to convey a high degree of accuracy for the gardeners and garden enthusiasts that are subscribers to the formandfoliage. To her, many commercial gardening images are too saturated to be real. Similarly, artistic composition has a role but subsidiary to the points Sara wants to make in the blog, e.g. color combinations, structure and texture, and seasonal changes. Stay tuned: more images to come!
Assignments Occasionally, a unique assignment comes my way! Also, check out the Articles section of this site to see some of my publications that include my photographs.
Flora and Fauna Life is endlessly fascinating....especially when addressing the endless photographic opportunities presented by people and animals!
Worldscapes The world is full of sweeping views...landscapes, seascapes, urban panoramas. But, equally powerful are the more intimate scenes that create a "sense of place" or evoke powerful memories and emotions.

Work and Play Living in rural America offers a variety of photographic subjects. There are a wide variety of potential subjects, ranging from the entire crop cycle (planting, growth and harvest) to the daily activities of a talented veterinarian. And, then there are the wonderful opportunities presented by sports. I'm fascinated by the energy and color in the horse sports.
Design: Art, Architecture and Beautiful ... One of the most entertaining aspects of photography is the challenge of capturing the elegant design, crisp line, dynamic repetitions, soft curves....all the simple elements that make the visual world so varied and beautiful.
